[The following Q&A has been edited for clarity and brevity]
Could you elaborate on the career journey that led you to Convergent?
For over 15 years, I developed my expertise in solar and energy storage projects; I began as a hands-on project manager and launched a new branch for a solar company in New England. Having contributed to the company’s rapid growth, I was promoted to Director of Operations and, later, VP of Operations. I also led a nationwide Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) group focused on large-scale PV and energy storage ventures. My team and developed solar PV systems ranging from 2 to 50 MW (rooftop and large ground mount) and energy storage ranging from 500KWh to 180 MWh.
Choosing Convergent was a deliberate decision. Apart from aligning with the company’s business focus, what captivated me was the remarkable cultural fit apparent during the interview process. It's more than just a career move; it's a purposeful step into a thriving environment that resonates with my aspirations and our shared mission for the future of energy.

What’s one thing you wish more people understood about energy storage and/or renewable energy?
I wish more people understood the extensive effort that has been—and continues to be—invested in establishing renewables as a viable alternative to fossil fuel plants. Having been part of the industry since its early days, I've witnessed the dedication required to overcome policy and regulatory challenges, develop and deploy cutting-edge technology, and create safe, reliable systems that provide value to customers.
The renewable energy sector, once met with skepticism by many, has proven its long-term viability by consistently evolving in response to the changing landscape. Contrary to the perception of renewables as a short-lived incentive or, they have transformed into a sustainable and proven solution. And, by pairing energy storage with solar, it can “firm up” that energy, maximizing its value to the electric grid and to customers.
How do you like to spend your time outside of the office?
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
One invaluable piece of career advice that has resonated with me is the notion that "sometimes you need to slow down to speed up." This advice is about taking a deliberate approach to understanding problems or challenges and avoiding hasty reactions or decisions; this perspective that has enhanced my problem-solving skills and contributed significantly to my professional growth and success. This mentality has also produced stronger, more successful results.
What does sustainability mean to you?
Sustainability, to me, means maintaining a delicate equilibrium—enjoying all that our world has to offer while minimizing our impact on the environment. It involves making choices that contribute to the long-term well-being of our planet.
In the face of escalating energy prices, particularly evident in my home state of Massachusetts, the significance of sustainable practices becomes even more pronounced. Energy storage and solar-plus-storage solutions stand out as among the most effective means for businesses and utilities to shield themselves against mounting energy costs and leveraging state-level financial incentives. It's gratifying to contribute to this mission through my work with Convergent, which will have a direct impact not only on Massachusetts but across North America.
